Summer on the Cuyahoga is not just a great internship experience. It’s also about building friendships with fellows interns from SOTC’s partner school and becoming part of the SOTC Alumni Network. SOTC offers our program alumni a unique opportunity and fellowship through its newsletter, growing network of chapters, Annual Reunion weekend and networking opportunities.
The SOTC Alumni Network was launched in Cleveland, and we’re now organizing chapters in other cities, such as Boston, Chicago, D.C. and New York where we have bigger populations of SOTC alumni. The goal is for each chapter to have a few social events each year so our SOTC alumni can network and support one another. If you’re living in Northeast Ohio, join our Facebook page. If you want to become part of a chapter in your current city, please register!
The Summer Solstice in June is the longest day of the year AND our annual SOTC Alumni Reunion. MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW FOR June 22 – 24, 2018! Reunion is a terrific opportunity to reconnect with your cohort members, network with other cohort members, and meet current SOTC interns from your schools. The highlight of the weekend will be the Cleveland Museum of Arts’ 10th annual Summer Solstice Party, also known as “THE party of the summer!”
SOTC is eager to assist its SOTC alumni in finding positions in Cleveland and NEO. We have started a JOBS BANK and are constantly adding positions which cross our desk. If you apply for a position you find in our Jobs Bank, be sure to email us so she can be sure your resume gets a good look. You may also post an open position at your company if you work in Northeast Ohio. Simply register as an EMPLOYER and complete the job description.
We also encourage our SOTC alumni to join our LinkedIn group. By joining this group, you’ll be connected to SOTC employers, other former interns, and alumni of our partner schools who support our program because they want to be a resource for our interns well beyond their “summer of a lifetime.”
SOTC generates funds from our partner schools and employers to cover some of its costs, but not all of them. Please consider making a gift to show your appreciation for our work and to sustain SOTC so it can continue to be a resource for you and current undergraduates at your Alma maters. Summer on the Cuyahoga is an Ohio nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation for which your contributions are tax-deductible. Please consider a gift in the following amounts that reflect the cost of successfully executing this program:
Participation matters! SOTC is generously supported by a number of NEO’s family, community and corporate foundations, but support from our alumni is imperative to sustaining the program. Further, whether we receive a grant often depends on the size of our donor population, and foundations find it meaningful if the direct recipients of our work become part of our giving community!
