STUDENTS MAY CONTINUE TO APPLY TO SUMMER ON THE CUYAHOGA AS LONG AS POSITIONS ARE STILL VIEWABLE ON THE WEB SITE. ONCE A POSITION IS FILLED IT IS REMOVED FROM THE SITE.

Summer on the Cuyahoga (SOTC) is a unique summer internship program open to students of Case Western, Colgate, Cornell, Harvard, Princeton, Smith, University of Chicago and Yale. The program brings together 75-90 students for an intensive summer immersion program designed to help interns explore the professional, civic, and social offerings of the Cleveland area. SOTC offers students challenging internships, community introductions, alumni connections, and group housing for the summer.

Driven by a collaborative effort among local alumni volunteers of the respective institutions, SOTC has attracted recognition as an effective civic development initiative. In partnership with employers and community leaders, the program showcases the region's opportunities to the student participants. The goal is to attract talented graduates for permanent positions in the region.

In the past six years, SOTC has:
    • Recruited over 150 summer employers offering paid internship positions
    • Secured 373 students for internships, 75% of whom are not from the region originally
    • Attracted over 2500 students as applicants
    • Resulted in 48 students accepting permanent positions in Cleveland with more students currently looking for permanent placement
